[memb_change_email]
Description
Outputs a form where the member enters their new email address twice.
Why let members change their own email
Email addresses go stale. People switch jobs, abandon the Gmail they made in 2011, or lose access to the address they paid from. When that happens to a member, everything downstream breaks quietly: password resets go nowhere, your CRM keeps syncing to a dead inbox, and the next billing failure notice vanishes into the void. The member usually doesn't email you about it, because from their side nothing is obviously broken yet.
A self-service change form turns that slow leak into a thirty-second fix on their side. The member updates the address, the CRM contact updates with it, and reset emails start landing where they belong again. For you, that's fewer "I can't log in" tickets and fewer members who drift away because a forgotten address quietly cut them off.
The double-entry (type it, repeat it) is deliberate: a typo'd email address is the one mistake the member can't see and the system can't recover from, since confirmation goes to the wrong place. Making them type it twice catches nearly all of them.
Optionally, apply a tag on success (tag_id) so your CRM automation picks up the change: verify the new address, log it, or trigger whatever follow-up your workflow wants.
Each instance of the shortcode on a page gets a unique form name
(change_email_1, change_email_2, …).
The HTML this shortcode renders comes from a template you can override in your theme. See Shortcode Templates.
