[memb_feedurl]
Description
Outputs the current user's RSS feed URL with their personal authentication key embedded. The key authenticates feed readers to protected feeds when feed protection is enabled.
Why put a feed behind a login
Feeds are how content reaches people outside your site, and the biggest example is podcasting: a member subscribes once in Apple Podcasts, Overcast, or Pocket Casts, and every new lesson, audio episode, or update arrives there automatically, no login and no browser required. That is mobile access your members didn't have to install an app to get, and it's why podcast-driven courses keep members listening on commutes long after they'd have stopped opening a tab.
The catch is that feeds are public by design. A normal WordPress feed hands your content to whoever asks, which is why hardening guidance tells most membership sites to disable feeds outright. Protected feeds solve that honestly instead: the public feed closes, and each member gets a private URL with their personal key embedded. Their podcast app authenticates with that URL; everyone else gets nothing.
Because the key is per-member, the URL carries accountability a shared password never could. If a member's feed URL starts pulling content from forty different IP addresses, you know exactly which member's link left the building, and one click on [memb_reset_feedurl] retires the old key and issues a new one. Publish a member's feed URL anywhere you'd publish member-specific instructions: an account page, a welcome email, or the "listen on the go" section of a course.
Three display modes are available via mode:
plain: the URL as text (default)input: a read-only<input>containing the URL (for easy copying)key: the raw RSS key alone
