Member Directory

Member directories as native content. Tag-driven rosters, per-directory access rules, and member-controlled privacy, so the people inside your site can finally find each other.

Most membership plugins treat a member list as an afterthought: a table dumped on a page, visible to everyone, with no say from the members in it. Real communities work differently. A professional association wants a public-facing directory of certified members. A coaching program wants a private roster only current clients can browse. A trade school wants students to find study partners in their own cohort. Same feature, completely different rules, and the directory module handles all of them.

Each directory is its own piece of content with its own configuration. Choose which fields appear on a member card, how cards are laid out, whether search is available, and how many members appear per page. Access rules are per directory: one directory can be public, another visible only to a specific tag, another visible to members but not listed in unless the member opts in. Privacy is member-controlled where you want it to be, so people can appear in a directory on their own terms.

Directories are driven by tags, which means the roster (the list of members who appear in a directory) takes care of itself. When a member's tags change they join or leave the directory automatically, and when a member holds the directory's visibility tag their card reflects their current profile fields. No manual roster maintenance, ever.

How you present the roster is a decision in itself: grid, list, or map, with nine card styles and theme-overridable templates. The map mode is the deepest cut: sourced geo fields, queued geocoding, and tile providers. And because a directory publishes information about people, privacy covers the three layers of control: who views, who appears, and what each member opts out of.
